Notes for Firewall Setting

The problem with some firewalls (Norton Internet Security in particular) is that they may default to preventing your Web browser from sending referrer information between pages, and this referer information is required as part of the verification check at this site, used to stop certain internet abuses.

To verify that your firewall is causing the error, temporarily disable your firewall. If you are able to use PowerEsim through this link, re-enable your firewall and follow the instructions below.

Norton Internet Security (NIS) and Norton Personal Firewall (NPF)

By default, Norton Internet Security (NIS) and Norton Personal Firewall (NPF) block this referrer information. Other firewalls may block this information as well. In order to allow referrer information to pass to a particular Website, you must create a rule for it.

  1. Open Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall.
  2. Do one of the following:
  3. In the bottom of the Advanced window, click Add Site.
  4. In the New Site/Domain box, type the name of the site that you want to receive the referrer information, championship.eastbaymedia.com, and click OK.
The site name appears in the left frame of the Options window.
  5. Click the name of the new site.
  6. On the Global Settings tab, under the Information about visited sites section, uncheck Use default settings.
  7. Click Permit.
  8. Click OK to close the Options window.
