14.1 What is Add Parts? Back to top
Add part is a general feature applied on all tools for user to add components for analysis. If a power supply is initialized, the added part will be appended into the original power supply BOM. If no power supply is initialized, the added part will be appended into an empty BOM. All analysis tools can share that BOM for analysis purpose.

Click on the "Add Parts" at the left main menu to start Add Parts.

14.3.1 Top bar Back to top
For details about all features in top bar, please refer to Session 9.3.7--Top bar and REFER9.5.1REFER##.

14.3.2 Create new components Back to top
  1. Select the component type in the section box
  2. Click [Add]

For Bridge, Capacitor, Fuse, IC, IGBT, Mosfet, Optocoupler, Rectifier, Resistor, Shunt Regulator, Thermistor, Transistor, Zener,
  • Component Finder page will pop up.



  • For Circuit Breaker, Connector, Electrical Barrier, HeatSink, MechanicalRelay, PCB, Socket, Switch, Thyristor, Customized Component,
  • General Component page will pop up.



  • For Inductor, Transformer,
  • Magnetic Builder page will pop up. For details, please refer to Session 13--Magnetic Builder.

    For details of searching component from library, please refer to Session 3--Component Finder.
    Define the losses of the added component in the below position.

    To add the selected component to BOM, please click [Add component].

    14.3.2.2.1 Customize a Heat Sink Back to top
    User can customized Description, heat sink type, physical size and material in this page.

    If Rectangular Fin Shape / Triangular Fin Shape is chosen in Heat Sink Type, number of fins can be customized.

    User can customized Description, PCB Type, physical size and material in this page.


    14.3.2.2.3 Customize a Electrical Barrier Back to top
    User can customized Description, physical size and material in this page.


    14.3.2.2.4 Customize other type of component Back to top
    User can customized Description, Power Loss, Component Type, Package Category ,Package Style, Physical Size and Material in this page.

    To define power loss, enter it at the following position.

    Click [confirm] to add this component to BOM.


    14.3.2.2.5 MTBF Properties Back to top
    The component must be added to BOM before modifying MTBF properties.

    14.3.3.1 View / Edit / Delete the added parts Back to top
    After adding component to the design, the components will be shown in the Component List. Click on blue button with the designator to view and edit components. Click on [Delete] to remove a component from the design.


    14.3.3.2 MTBF Properties Back to top
    Click the blue button with the Designator in Component List.

    In the bottom side of the new window, there is a region called "MTBF properties".
    Click [Component Setting] to enter Component Setting page.

    User can modify the MTFB properties in the "MTBF Factor" Area in Component Setting page.
